Most students who wish to register for Sta 10, 101, 102 or 102B will need to take a placement exam. There are two exceptions.
- Students who declared a major by March 29, 2007 are exempt from the exam and may register for any of Sta 10, 101, 102 or 102B when they are offered.
- Students who have AP credit or who have passed Sta 10 may register for Sta 101, 102 or 102B without taking the placement exam.
Once you have taken the placement exam and qualified for a particular course, that qualification is valid for your time at Duke. If for some reason you do not take the class at the time you qualify -- e.g., the class is full -- you do not have to retake the placement exam.
The placement examination will next be offered:
- January 11, 2010, 9:00AM - 10:00AM, 116 Old Chemistry
- January 12, 2010, 9:00AM - 10:00AM, 116 Old Chemistry
You may sign up to take the placement exam using the Placement Exam Signup application (Duke NetID login required):
